2019 Construction Career Days, Howell, MI
MICCD is a construction career exploration open to ALL Michigan 7th-12th grade students. With a tested blend of construction education, training and career information booths, MICCD provides Michigan’s young people the chance to see and learn about the industry with actual construction professionals.
While MICCD is a fantastic opportunity for your students to explore all that the construction industry can offer them as a future career, it must be noted that this event is not only open to those students interested in construction careers, but ALL students exploring career options. With these high skilled, high paying construction jobs, it is important that our industry reach out to all students especially those that excel in math, science, and English. It has long been a misconception that construction is only for those who can not or do not excel at traditional educational and career opportunities.
In reality, that could not be farther from the truth! We want young people that are interested in learning, are trainable and college ready. Construction is a very demanding, fast-paced and safety-driven business. It is a very rewarding career for those who accept those challenges, demands and changes. Please take a look at the Careerguide linked below with information describing the construction industry sectors and occupations that may be found throughout the MICCD event.
We hope that you will take the time to review it and share it with your colleagues and administrators when deciding which students will attend from your school.
All the document and video contents will be accessible in the exhibit hall for 30 days after the event and new visitors can register to see!
